While our products and knowledge are outstanding, our greatest resource is in our people, many of whom have been with us for years, and whose efforts have insured the success of Cobalt AV and ComtronICS Inc for over 30 years.
Introduced in 2003, CobaltAV, the proprietary brand of ComtronICS Inc., provides complete 2-way radio audio accessories and peripherals designed to bring you innovative high quality and value priced products from a single source. ComtronICS Inc, a 30 year veteran of the headset and wireless business, has developed a reputation as the most knowledgeable and reliable supplier of radios and headsets in several vertical markets, including nuclear, stock exchanges and paper products manufacturing. We offer you prompt customer service,and our advantageous central location in Lexington, KY, allows us to offer short turnaround delivery to much of the eastern United States and Canada. Cobalt AV brings you the most cutting edge products around, including the AMPS "Advance speaker Microphone for Public Safety", CobaltBlue™ bluetooth adapters for wireless headsets and HME tactical wireless headset intercoms. We have recently revived and revamped the throat mic and antenna speaker mics for lower and higher tier portable radios. We offer Boston Amplifier bi-directional amplifiers to enhance cell coverage in buildings and vehicles, as well as Bluetooth technology headsets and devices for high noise areas. Our trademark Cobalt blue muff headsets feature detachable radio/intercom cords. In addition, we custom build headsets, cable assemblies, wireless telephony and intercom applications. Cobalt AV is focused on growing a large network of two-way radio dealers who recognize the benefits of personal customer service, product customization and the availability of a wide breadth of audio products from one source. David Fried, President David grew up in Flemingburg KY where his family owned a department store since the early 1900's. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Journalism & Advertising. With retail in his blood, in 1980, he founded Comtronics. David is an avid skier and traveler, with a great fondness for The Great Lebowski, from which comes his favorite quote: "Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes, well, he eats you."
 Deborah Prechtl, Marketing | Graphics Manager A graduate of the University of Cincinnati's DAAP, Deby has been involved with Comtronics since its inception, but only recently has come on board in her current position. Her interests include jewelry design, creative writing, home renovation and gardening.  Wendy Ernst, Office Manager Originally from Whitestown IN, Wendy has a sparkling outgoing personality. She has been with the company since 2004. Her interests include ghost hunting and amateur photography. Wendy believes you should be good to those who are good to you, whether family, friends or at work.  Melissa Kirk, Customer Service Manager Melissa grew up in Memphis TN, where she studied Criminal Justice Telecommunications. Her interests include paranormal investigation and traveling with family. Favorite quote: "Success is the abiity to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm."--Sir Winston Churchill.  Melinda Lyons, Shipping & Receiving Melinda is from Lexington KY and has a degree in Business. Her interests include gardening and scrapbooking. A friendly person, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.  Charles Hogsett, Accounting Assistant Charles is from Lexington KY, and has degrees in both Finance and Accounting from the University of Kentucky. He is interested in real estate, cars and motorcycles. The best way to go through life?--"be nice to everyone'.  Gerald Caton, Technician Gerald has been with our company for many years as the go-to guy for all kinds of technical issues. His hobbies include collecting radios, antique bottles and model trains. His philosophy of life? "I just take things one day at a time."  Shawn Bernstein - Sales Shawn is from Cincinnati OH. He is certified in Fire & Safety Administration, Emergency Medical Technician, IFSAC Firefighter 1 & 2, and IFSAC Fire Instructor.
